What do you call this plant?

Well this was taken at home and I somehow seem to have a fancy for this plant. But honestly I don't know the name and it just keeps growing. My wife waters it every night and it reminds me of a wise old men's grey beard. If you know the species and the name, please feel free to share it with me.

It's sort of a funny looking plant and it just grows downwards...only thing is I don't know the name.

Shree, my wife told me that you get this plant growing in the ever glades in Florida ...correct me if I'm wrong...
